Strip started Connection Wallet powered by artificial intelligence. The link allows users to authorize purchases without revealing their payment credentials.
Founded in 2010, Stripe is the best payment platform for online/offline businesses. The company made almost $2 trillion in payments in 2024. It supports approximately 135 currencies and is widely used by both small and large companies.
Link supports intermediary AI that provides an element of autonomy to payments. The application may send you a request to purchase or pay for a service. If the user reviews and is approved, Link does the rest. All purchases must be approved, but it is expected that at some point in the future, intermediary AI payments will act autonomously on your behalf.
While similar to the popular Apple Pay service, Apple has yet to incorporate AI to provide more value to its payment platform.
Stripe has positioned its agency AI strategy to evolve over time.
First, you will set rules, from approving every purchase to only approving exceptions (those that deviate from defined parameters).
Agents will soon have access to your purchase history to anticipate needs and potentially make purchases for specified products or services.
BNPL and stablecoins will soon be part of the package.
Stripe had previously outlined the stages of representative trading, noting that these are in the early stages today, but in stage five, AI will become autonomous based on personal habits and history. The connection is defined as “on-ramp” for brokered trading.
