According to reports, John HealeyFormer Defense Minister who resigned from Starmer’s government last month was chosen as his replacement Rachel Reeves As Chancellor of the Exchequer.
John Burnham He took over as Prime Minister and quickly moved to oust Starmer loyalists.
The Cambridge graduate has been an MP since 1997 and has previously worked with the Chancellor. Gordon Brown.
Healey is described as a “mainstream Labour” type, focusing on fiscal discipline. He is a lawyer for more defense spending and “military Keynesianism.”

As for Burnham, it is unclear which direction he will take, but he is said to believe in “business-friendly socialism” and greater public control over industry. Burnham also reportedly supports digital assets/blockchain technology.
As the UK pursues a policy to advance its position in the global tokenization race, including updated rules to support innovation, Burnham looks set to pursue this goal. At the same time, it is not yet clear whether policy goals include tax reform to support entrepreneurship.
In his first speech as Prime Minister, Burnham focused on the cost of living and the decentralization of power, while admitting that the public were “fed up with politics”.
Burnham said:
